Dunedin BJJ
The Home of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Dunedin New Zealand
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a ground grappling martial art. It works on the principle that most fights end up on the ground. It aims to teach effective techniques that when proficient, can enable a fighter to beat opponents that are bigger than themselves. Fights are won by causing your opponent to submit. This is most commonly achieved by a choke or joint lock.
Here in Dunedin, we aim to provide a friendly training environment, with competition focused training. BJJ is an excellent way to increase your self confidence and physical fitness.
Please take the time to look through our site and see what the club has to

Information about our logo:

Our logo is based on the Yellow eyed Penguin. It has been considered one of the rarest penguins in the world. These penguins are well know to the south east coast of New Zealand, and in particular, the Dunedin Peninsula.

We like these little fellas, and they represent the Dunedin/ Otago area , as the Kiwi does New Zealand.
Original Sketching and design was by Matthew Bond (BJJ Blue Belt)
